In municipal elections, party labels explain less than concrete decisions: property tax, housing, mobility and safety vary from one town to the next. The useful question is not merely which party resembles you, but which candidacy in your town thinks like you.

quivoto was created to build that comparison from local evidence without turning the result into a voting recommendation.

A locally grounded compass. Twenty-five statements about each municipality turn local debates into a clear comparison between the user and the candidacies.

An Observatory that is already open. Its profiles cover governing coalitions, voting since 1979, council composition, accounts, taxes and political careers.

Every number has a source. Provisional positions come from minutes and votes; data is released as CSV and JSON with a documented schema for review and reuse.

Privacy by design. The tool works without accounts or cookies and never sends answers outside the browser.

The challenge was not to manufacture a convincing percentage. It was to show where every comparison comes from, what is known and what is still unknown. The interface treats uncertainty as part of the product, not as fine print.
