The Lord of the Rings in Concert
The Lord of the Rings in Concert · Concerts Studio A Lord of the Rings concert cannot have just any website. Concerts Studio, the promoters behind the Festival dels Jardins de Pedralbes, the Cerdanya Music Festival and the Festival Mil·lenni, were clear about it: a digital experience worthy of the epic of Middle-earth.
With one practical condition: buying tickets had to be easier than finding the One Ring. The website had to move people and sell, in that order, and without the second getting in the way of the first.
We designed a website that does not only inform: it drops the fan into Tolkien’s world. Look and narrative in line with Peter Jackson’s trilogy, clear navigation and a clean Ticketmaster integration so buying has no friction.
We created a graphic identity that breathes the fantasy of the saga: colours, type and graphic elements chosen to carry the magic and the scale of that world, and to survive the scrutiny of the most devoted fans, who forgive very little.
And we finished it with strategy: SEO so the concert came up when someone searched for the soundtrack live, lead magnets to capture the fan before tickets went on sale, and newsletters that move people from the first click. From the visit to a seat in the stalls.
All of it with a known expiry date. An event website lives as long as the tour does; what is left is the fan list, the brand and the way to sell the next one.
An event website has one goal and many temptations. The key was making all that visual epic end in one button: buy. Moving people was the route, not the destination.
Ticket sales for a big concert do not live on the event website: they live on the ticketing platform. The website has to do two things well: convince, and hand the fan over to Ticketmaster with the show, the date and the seating area already chosen, so they never go back a step. Every extra step between the feeling and the payment is people who do not buy.
And before the sale, the capture: a lead magnet (something a Tolkien fan actually wants) in exchange for an email address, and newsletters that tell the story of the tour before asking for anything. When tickets open, there is already someone to tell. That is what is left when the event website goes dark.
