How much does a website cost in Barcelona? Real prices in 2026

Short answer first, because that is what you came for: in Barcelona, in 2026, a website costs between €600 and €2,500 for a landing page, between €1,800 and €6,000 for a business website, between €3,500 and €15,000 for an online shop and from €12,000 upwards for a custom digital product. All figures exclude VAT (21% in Spain), and these are market prices, not our rate card. The long answer is the one that saves you money, so keep reading.
The price of a website is not set by the website. It is set by what it has to achieve and by who does each part of the job.
Market ranges in Barcelona (2026)
These numbers come from what we see in proposals, public tenders and conversations with clients who walk in with three quotes under their arm. They are indicative: good for checking whether a quote is in the reasonable zone, not for fixing a price before anyone has talked.

| Online shop | €3,500 | €15,000 |
| Custom website / digital product | €12,000 | €60,000+ |

Landing page or one-page site (€600–2,500). A single URL with one job: capture a lead, sell one thing, announce an event. The cheap end is a template and your own copy; the expensive end is bespoke design, copy written by someone who knows how to sell, and analytics that are actually set up.
Business website, 5 to 10 pages (€1,800–6,000). The typical site for a company, a practice or an organisation: about us, services, case studies, contact, maybe a blog. The gap between €1,800 and €6,000 is almost always custom design and content.
Multilingual site with a blog and baseline SEO (€3,000–9,000). Every language is another website inside the website: its own URLs, copy translated by a human, tags and a sitemap per language. Barcelona is trilingual by default, and that costs money. Our own catalogue is in three languages for exactly that reason.
Online shop (€3,500–15,000). Catalogue, payment gateway, shipping, taxes, stock, transactional emails, returns policy. A twenty-product WooCommerce shop has nothing in common with two thousand SKUs wired into an ERP.
Custom website, web app or digital product (€12,000–60,000 or more). Here you are no longer buying pages, you are buying software. Private areas, bookings, calculators, maps, data dashboards. Tools such as eclipsi.info or quivoto live in this territory, and the price is driven by complexity, not by the number of screens.
What pushes the price up (or down)
Two quotes for “the same website” can be €4,000 apart and both be perfectly sound. What changes is this:
1. How many distinct templates there are, not how many pages. Twenty pages sharing one structure cost little more than five. Five pages, each with its own design, cost as much as twenty.
2. Custom design or template. A well-chosen, well-adapted template is a legitimate decision. Design from scratch costs more and shows more: you pay for it when your sector is full of identical websites.
3. Who writes the copy and who takes the photos. Content is the most underestimated line in any budget. If you write the texts yourself, the quote goes down and the deadline goes through the roof, because nobody has time to write their own website.
4. Languages. Each language adds 15 to 30% to the project if a person does the translation. If a machine does it unreviewed, what it adds is mistakes.
5. Integrations. CRM, bookings, payments, newsletter, ERP, digital signatures, a map with your own data. Every connection is work and, above all, testing.
6. Migration and technical SEO. If you already have a site, every old URL has to redirect to its new home or you lose the rankings you had. It is tedious and it is non-negotiable.
7. Performance and accessibility. A site that loads in a second and can be used with a keyboard does not happen by accident: it has to be built that way from day one.
8. Who runs the project. Meetings, reviews, changes of mind. In an agency, project management is usually 5 to 15% of the budget. When it does not appear on the quote, it is hidden inside another line.
Where the money goes
When a proposal arrives with a single number at the bottom, there is no way to know what you are buying. An indicative split for a business website looks like this:
See the data as a table
| Phase | Weight |
|---|---|
| Discovery and strategy | 10% |
| Design | 25% |
| Development | 35% |
| Content and SEO | 15% |
| QA, training and launch | 10% |
| Management | 5% |
Indicative split for an average project. In a shop, development weighs more; in a brand site, design and content do.
Discovery and strategy, 10%: understanding the business and deciding which pages are needed and which are not. Design, 25%. Development, 35%. Content and SEO, 15%. Testing, training and launch, 10%. Project management, 5%. If a quote puts 80% into “development” and nothing into content, you already know what will be missing.
Freelancer, agency or template: when you do not need us
Let us be honest, because honesty is cheaper in the long run. If you run a small business, have decent photos and can write four paragraphs, a template and a weekend will give you a perfectly respectable website. You do not need us, and we are the ones telling you.
A freelancer in Barcelona charges between €25 and €45 an hour, sometimes more if they are very good. That works beautifully for small, clearly defined projects. The risk is availability: when the site breaks on a Saturday, you depend on one person.
An agency charges between €60 and €110 an hour. What you pay for is design, development, content and strategy at the same table, a schedule someone actually keeps, and someone who answers when something goes wrong. If your website is a business tool rather than a brochure, that is where the difference lies.
And a word on artificial intelligence: today anyone can generate a website in an afternoon. What it does not generate is judgement: what to say, to whom, in what order, and what to leave out. Your website does not need more sections, it needs fewer, and that is still human work.
The costs nobody puts on the quote
You pay for the website once. Keeping it alive is paid for every year. Budget for this:
Domain: €10 to €20 a year, a bit more for a .cat or .barcelona. Hosting: from €5 a month on shared hosting to €30–250 a month for managed hosting, with backups, updates, monitoring and a human keeping an eye on it. Maintenance: updating WordPress and plugins, fixing what breaks, small changes. Licences: premium plugins, typefaces, stock photos, advanced forms. Legal: legal texts, a cookie banner done properly, GDPR records. Content: somebody has to keep writing.
For a small business, €300 to €3,000 a year is normal. Be suspicious of maintenance at €0: either it does not exist or you will pay for it the day the site goes down.
Kit Digital: the website for €0, asterisks included
If you are self-employed or run a small or medium-sized company registered in Spain, Kit Digital is an EU-funded voucher scheme that pays for your website: the voucher goes from €2,000 (freelancers and companies with 0 to 2 employees) up to €12,000 (10 to 49 employees), and with it a standard business website can cost you €0. It covers a sensible website, not a bespoke project, and it comes with conditions: an accredited digital agent, twelve months of service and minimum accessibility and SEO requirements. We handle the paperwork and tell you plainly what is covered and what is not.
How to get a quote without being taken for a ride
Start with the brief, not the price. If you cannot explain what the website has to achieve, every provider will quote you a different website and you will not be able to compare them. Our interactive brief is free and takes ten minutes.
If you already have a site, get it audited before rebuilding it. Sometimes the problem is three things and there is no need to start from scratch. The express audit tells you on video within 48 working hours.
Demand a breakdown. Phases with dates, a price per line, what is included and, above all, what is not. A one-line quote is a surprise on a delay timer.
Ask who owns everything. Domain, hosting, code, design files, logins. If the answer is not “you”, do not sign.
Ask to see similar cases. Not a pretty portfolio: cases with a problem, a solution and a result. Here are ours.
So what do we charge?
We do not publish a rate card, and it is not for the mystery: two websites with the same number of pages can be completely different projects, and a loose number would mislead you. What we do is answer fast. Answer seven questions in the calculator and within 24 working hours you get a real figure, with what it includes, and no sales call in between. And if you would rather talk, let us have a coffee.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a simple website cost in Barcelona?
A landing page or one-page site, between €600 and €2,500. A simple business website, from €1,800. VAT excluded, and always depending on who provides the design and the copy.
How much does an online shop cost?
Between €3,500 and €15,000 in most cases. What moves the number is the catalogue, the payment and shipping methods, and whether it has to connect to a management system.
How much does it cost to maintain a website per year?
For a small business, €300 to €3,000 a year adding up domain, hosting, maintenance and licences. A site that sells or gets heavy traffic needs managed hosting and goes up from there.
How long does it take to build a website?
A landing page, two to three weeks. A business website, six to ten. A shop, eight to fourteen. A custom product, three to six months. The bottleneck is almost always content, not code.
Does Kit Digital pay for the whole website?
The voucher ranges from €2,000 to €12,000 depending on company size. For a standard business website it is usually enough; for a large shop or a custom site it covers part of the cost.
Why are two quotes for the same website so different?
Because it is almost never the same website. What changes is the design (template or custom), who writes the copy, the languages, the integrations and who manages the project. Ask for the breakdown and compare line by line.
Is it cheaper to build it myself with a template or with AI?
Yes, and if your business is small and you have the time, it is a good option. What you buy from a professional is judgement, speed and someone who answers when something fails.
