CERCAT was born with a clear mission: to make public information and services in Catalonia more accessible and easy to use. This project, driven by a team of young Catalan entrepreneurs, centralizes all public information on a single platform, transforming it into something simple and intuitive for any user.
With natural language processing (NLP) technology, users can ask questions such as “What do I need to renew my ID card?” or “How do I register as self-employed?” and get clear answers in a matter of seconds. Forget about getting lost among a thousand web pages and forms: CERCAT solves everything with a couple of clicks.
Who is behind it?
A team with fresh ideas and a lot of talent: Pau Riba, Marc Celeiro, Roger Bach and Humbert Blanco. Their vision is clear: to use technology to break down barriers and make people’s lives easier. It’s not their first time innovating: in 2020 they won the Hackovid with Ajudem.cat, a platform that connected neighbors to offer help during the pandemic.
Awards and future:
CERCAT has been a finalist in the GovTech Catalunya competition, a recognition that highlights its potential to transform the public sector. If it moves on to the next phase, it will have a budget of 41,000 euros to develop a real pilot to bring this idea to everyday life.
Impact:
Although it is still in prototype phase, CERCAT already aims to be a benchmark in the digitization of the public sector. More transparency, less hassle and a more direct relationship with the Administration. This project not only simplifies procedures, but also generates trust and better connects citizens with public services.
